Reason 1 Why I Hate Microsoft Software
K, so I am taking office 2007 and excel 2007 at a local community college in order to learn 2k7 to teach it to staff (and, as a half time student, my loans are in school deferrment, aka 'no pay'). Since I am a 100% Mac G33k, I get to install MS 2k7 on our xp box at home.
Certain people in our IT dept refer to 2k7 as having the "Big Ass Button Bar," and boy, they werent kidding. There sure is a big ass button bar across the top of the software. But.... that big ass button bar and all the conceivably annoying menus that magically appear as you mouse near something can actually be pretty helpful... when needed. I quickly made a ppt. Which relates to our story.
So I am also curious about Outlook 2k7, so I thought I'd configure it to talk to our exchange server at work so I could test it out. So, I open Outlook, and begin to configure the account. I get the error message, "You cannot connect to an Exchange server in Outlook. Exit Outlook and add an Exchange server from the mail icon in Control Panel." Okay. I can do that.
So I close Outlook. Go to Control Panel. Find the Mail icon. Click "Add." So on, so forth x 3, and I get this:

Sigh.

Know what you mean. Excel 2007 is driving me nuts!! (have it at home, with the also-driving-me-crazy Vista OS)
