PFH
Introducing... PFH! Yes, this is my #1 Project From Hell. Dunno why, really... the squares aren't hard to make and it joins up just fine, but for some reason I just hate it. So what did I do? Decide to make it bigger to fit my bed (it began Life as a baby blanket for Lila. Lila is five.). Why? I have no idea. It'll be pretty when it's done, tho.

Update
So I've figured out the biggest problem with this pattern, but there's little I can do about it now. I worked the pattern over and over, making potholders, dishcloths, exchange squares, and I learned a thing or two. I decided that the pattern I had was wrong, and with every row I was working three dc in a place where I should've been working with two. All this was corroborated when I checked out the book "200 Crochet Blocks" and saw that the same square, called Wisteria, had 2dc where I'd been doing 3dc. The extra stitches cause the square to be off and the ends somewhat bunched together; it's not very noticeable as the squares are only 4 rounds, but I find the squares unpleasant to make with the error. However, I'm halfway done so I can't really do the squares differently or the 'ghan will look off. At least I now have comfort in knowing why I hate to make these squares, and that does make it easier.
On an upside, I did find a lovely edging in a library book the other day; it is very elaborate with pinapples and shells, and I think it will be absolutely smashing on PFH when it's done.
will... finish... 'ghan.....
More
I've had enough requests for PFH's corrected square pattern, so here it is old school style -
ch 10, form ring
*dcl, ch3* 8 times
*dcl, ch 3, dcl, ch 2, 3 dc, ch2* 4 corners made
*dcl, ch 3, dcl, ch 2, 2dc, dc across, 2dc, ch 2* repeat until you reach the size desired. : )
